2018 Schedule

Experience 15 professional story artists and 50 community tellers.  Join the Story Crossroads Festival on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at the Murray City Park (495 E. 5300 S., Murray, UT-morning sessions) and the South Jordan Community Center (10778 S. Redwood Rd., South Jordan, UT-evening concerts). Events are from 9:00am to Noon and then 6:00pm-9:00pm as well as Outreaches and Special Events before, during, and after the Festival starting May 21, 2018 and into May 24, 2018.

Pavilion 2 is geared for Elementary & Family Audiences.  Pavilions 1 and 3 are geared for Middle School & Adults that are still Family-Friendly Material.  The schedule is subject to change and the Pavilions for certain audiences could also change to accommodate expected large groups and field trips.  Come back as placement of the story artists is determined.

Every year the Story Crossroads Festival will have many outreaches performed and taught.  These are usually open to the public.  If it is a school, then you need to check in at the office for a visitor badge.  These outreaches occur before, during, and after the Festival and are always free.

“Walking in Their Shoes: Living History and Storytelling at its Finest” Intensive Workshop

presented by Denise Valentine

Learn to craft historical narrative with folklore and oral history.  Explore skills through stories of Freedom and Hope from African and African American History.  Discussion also examines the role of storytelling in the continuity of community traditions.

This is the 2nd annual panel featuring professors of language and cultural arts.  After the panel is a story concert geared for teens and adults and open to the public.  Both the panel and the concert is free and considered outreaches of the Story Crossroads Festival.
